Deserve Priority
We’ve partnered with FedEx to ensure each prescription medication will be shipped safely and can easily be tracked to your pharmacy.
Packing Guidelines for Shipping
1 ) Insert cotton into partial packs
- Prevent movement of medications by inserting cotton in the partially filled bottles.
- Ensure the cap is tightly sealed and place in a plastic, zip-lock closable bag.
2 ) Use corrugated boxes only
- Utilize your own boxes for shipping via FedEx Ground.
- FedEx Express packaging is for express overnight and 2-day shipments only.
- Use only sturdy boxes with all flaps intact.
- For heavier items use double-wall boxes.
- If you’re reusing a box, ensure there are no holes, tears, corner dents or old labels.
3 ) Cushion the inside of the package
- Cushioning materials can include molded foam (like “packing peanuts”), densely packed shredded paper, or plastic bubble cushioning. Corrugated fiberboard pads are good for blocking and bracing contents to avoid shifting during shipping.
- Include a minimum of 2-3 inches of packing material around your prescription drug(s).
- Wrap each item separately and place cushioning between them if shipping multiple prescription medications.
4 ) Seal your package securely
- Tape seams end-to-end with packing tape that is at least 2-inches wide.
- Use pressure-sensitive packing tape, water-activated paper tape, or water-activated reinforced tape.
- Avoid the use of masking tape, cellophane tape, or string to seal packages.
- Do not wrap your box with paper.
- Always secure the pre-paid FedEx shipping label provided by MatchRX on the package.
5 ) Handle frozen, refrigerated, & dry items with care
- Refrigerate or freeze products before packaging per manufacturer’s guidelines.
- Pre-cool the expanded polystyrene (EPS) container.
- Double bag or place products in a ziplock bag if the shipment contains liquid or perishables that might melt or thaw to ensure moisture does not leak in.
- Compact products but leave space around the items for coolant or dry ice.
- Place a sufficient amount of coolant or dry ice in the insulated container on top of and around the products.
- Use double-wall boxes for all frozen, refrigerated, or dry items, and seal properly.
- Properly label the package by placing a MRX refrigeration sticker on the outside of the box.
6 ) Include your signed packing checklist
- Ensure you don’t forget anything!
